Akai Professional releases accessible standalone sampler, MPC Sample

Music tech manufacturer Akai Professional has released its most accessible standalone sampler yet, the MPC Sample — a highly-portable unit that allows for portable beatmaking anytime and anywhere.

Inspired by the MPC workflow on systems such as the MPC60, but with no computer required, the MPC Sample gives users the opportunity for spontaneous creativity, with five hours of battery life.

With 2gb RAM and 8gb internal storage, the MPC Sample has plenty of room to store creations; the device features 60 effect types spread across four engines, including Pad FX, Knob FX, FlexBeat and the Colour-Compressor.

“MPC Sample represents a new chapter for the MPC legacy,” says Akai Professional Brand Director Andy Mac. “For decades, MPCs have been the foundation of modern music production, and now we’re opening the door wider than ever. MPC Sample gives anyone, whether they’ve never made a beat or they’ve been producing and sampling for years, the same iconic workflow that shaped entire genres, in a format they can take anywhere.”
