Mumdance set to release first new music in three years

It marks his production return after taking a hiatus from the music industry

Mumdance, AKA Jack Adams, has announced that he will be releasing new music for the first time in three years.

Announcing the news on Instagram, the Different Circles co-founder confirmed the new music will be released next week, beginning December 5.

The Brighton-born producer and DJ had taken a hiatus from music to focus on recovery from addiction since 2019.

In February he shared an archive of mixes, productions and other work on his website, with over 316 hours of music and 14 years of work to mark three years sober.

At the time Adams wrote in an Instagram post: “As I complete my third year clean and sober, I wanted to share an archive of my work over the past 14 years.

“It would be nice to say that it was a noble choice to go into recovery, but the truth is that my behaviour became increasingly erratic and my actions were causing harm, upset and discord,” he continued.

“Over the last 12 months, I’ve slowly started to remember what I used to love about music. I have no real expectations of what comes next, but I’m grateful to have the beginnings of a healthier relationship with listening and creating.”

On top of his productions and DJ sets, the ‘MD Archive’ also contained work on sound design, technology, notable events and interviews.

The new music will be the first piece of work released since appearing on Logos's LP, ‘Zoned In’, released on their label Different Circles.

Also marking his return, he will also be playing all night long at South London club Venue MOT on December 9, in his first London headline show since 2019.
