MPs to debate petition calling for greater music industry support in parliament
The #LetUsDance petition has received more than 143,000 signatures
UK parliament is set to debate the ‘Let Us Dance - Support nightclubs, dance music events and festivals’ petition.

The petition, that was started by Jasper Levine and calls for funding to be extended to nightclubs, dance music events and festivals impacted by the pandemic, has received more than 143,000 signatures - above the 100,000 threshold required for a debate in parliament.
The government has now confirmed the debate will take place on November 9.

In a response to the petition, the government said: “DCMS [Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport] appreciates the important contribution that nightclubs, dance music events and festivals provide to the UK’s cultural economy, and that the COVID-19 pandemic presents a significant challenge to many businesses operating in these sectors.”
