Moogfest refuses to honor new anti-trans law at their festival

Music and art is made for everyone

A new bill was passed by the legislation of North Carolina this week that eliminates anti-discriminatory protections against members of the LGBT to community, and requires transgender individuals to only use bathrooms of their birth gender.

Moogfest, a festival that celebrates the work of Dr. Robert Moog, who actively supported all forms of self expression and equality, is refusing to honor the recent law at their event. Many speakers and performers of the event are part of the LGBT community. The producers behind Moogfest will be hosting various educational outlets and discussions on the issue. "...we will take every step possible to ensure that Moogfest remains a safe and welcoming space for all festival-goers."

The opposition to the new bill comes with a full social media campaign, Moogfest will be using #WeAreNotThis #HN2 and #NC in their posts concerning the controversy.
