Moodymann gets roasted for playing 'Sex On Fire' at Field Day

The "selector" pushed it too far

A disregard for convention and a "fuck it" attitude can be important staples in the mindset of a pioneering artist, but Moodymann perhaps took this a little too far at London's Field Day at the weekend.

The Mahogani Music boss bewildered revellers at the festival by dropping Kings Of Leon's insipid rock hit 'Sex on Fire' in his set, turning the mood quickly sour following on from the previously well-receieved selection of Paranoid London's 'Light Tunnel'.

Pockets of the crowd broke out into singalong, but the tangible feeling among the majority of the packed-out tent was one of confusion and dismay, as people streamed towards the exit in droves while Moodymann shouted his "Whaddupdoe?" catchphrase down the microphone.

Earlier in the set he had pulled off playing Future's 'Mask Off' to a cheer of approval, but the Kings of Leon track proved less popular. A number of punters and DJs weighed in on Twitter to comment on the matter, check out tweets in the gallery above, and footage on the moment below.
