Mixmag and IMS present Visionaries Contest winner Inder Phull
The global competition comes to a close
2016 marked the second return of the global Visionaries Contest, presented by IMS and Mixmag.
IMS launched the Visionaries Contest in 2015 in effort to find an effective and progressive way to welcome in the next generation of electronic music visionaries. Seeking contestants 25 years or younger, the Visionaries Contest challenges young minds to present a forward-thinking idea that aims to progress and improve the electronic music industry in the future.
This year, Mixmag and IMS presented the award at IMS Ibiza 2016 to winner Inder Phull!
Inder Phull is the 25-year old founder of KRPT, a UK-based brand-building network made up of creatives with expertise in youth culture. Inder presented his idea as ‘HOBBY TO PRO,’ a mesmerizing visual explanation that emphasized the importance of getting people involved in the hobby of music itself, which will naturally lead to the expansion and progression of the industry and its extended fields like technology, nightlife and more.
"Mixmag prides itself on being a forward-thinking company and champion of new talent," says Global Editor of Mixmag, Nick DeCosemo. "It has been a source of great pride and encouragement to be part of the IMS Visionaries Contest and witness the high levels of effort and ability that went into the entries. Inder Phull's contribution is a brilliantly executed account of how he has started an innovative business from his love of electronic music. And previous Visionaries winner, Valerie Lee, is now Digital Editor of Mixmag US – living proof that this initiative can lead to practical success in our industry."
