Minstry of Sound to get first Dolby club soundsystem
The 60-speaker rig gets its first outing at a Hospital Records night on January 23
London club Ministry of Sound will be the first venue to be kitted out with Dolby Atmos, a new soundsystem technology by the audio company.
The 60-speaker, 22 audio channel rig will be installed on top of the current system in The Box, the south London club's main room, on January 23 for a takeover by drum 'n' bass label Hospital Records.
Clubbers can expect sound like they've never experienced before, according to Ministry CEO Lohan Presencer: "Dolby Atmos allows our patrons to experience the future of dance music, creating multidimensional soundscapes the likes of which have never been heard before in a nightclub environment. It's simply breathtaking."
Dolby's website description backs that statement up, writing it "redefines your entertainment experience" by producing "breathtaking sound quality".
