Skibadee’s daughter has launched crowdfunder for family of late MC
"As his firstborn it has fallen to me to help our family with the unexpected loss of my dad”
The daughter of the late jungle and drum ’n’ bass icon, MC Skibadee, has launched a fundraiser to support the family of the late MC.
Asia Wride is raising funds toward funeral costs and support for the family with a goal of reaching £50,000. “My dad, MC Skibadee, passed away on February 27th 2022," she wrote on the GoFundMe page.
"As his firstborn, it has fallen to me to help our family with the unexpected loss of my dad. If you can help to take the pressure off during this time it would be much appreciated,” she added.
MC Skibadee passed away last month at age 47. Tributes poured in for the MC, who was known for his solo career and his part in drum ’n’ bass group SASAS. His cause of death is currently unknown.
“My dad was truly a one of a kind person and If you had the privilege of knowing him, his music and everything he was, you were blessed like me. My heartfelt thanks for all your support and kind words,” Wride posted on the GoFundMe page.
"I am truly lost without his guidance, his smile and the way he looked out for me and his friends. It doesn’t matter how much you give every penny will be appreciated by me and the family he left behind.”
Wride added that all funds will go toward the legal process in sorting his estate and legacy, however, this could take months to carry out.
The GoFundMe page has currently collected over £15,000 of the £50,000 set out by MC Skibadee’s family. Find ways to donate here.
