Maximono - 8/10

Hailing from Hanover and London, Sebi and Nick are the producers behind these two storming tracks on Dirtybird. Don't expect identikit versions of the Dirtybird discography, as this is their unique take on the DB sound. These were both standouts at Claude VonStroke's epic set at the Desert Hearts Festival, and finally we're getting our hands on them.

It's possible that Maximono have a screw loose, as these quirky, off-kilter tracks are not of this world. 'Sorry' has a square-wave bass jostling with marching beats, 'Spastik' snares and an insane breakdown. 'So Hot' is all crispy drums, relentless bleeping, boompty beats and a vocal chop. They are a fantastic addition to the Dirtybird stable.
