Martin Lewis - 7/10

This release is due on Monoklo, sub-label of one of our favourite outlets, Holic Trax. Only its second release, 'The Wax' is one of three original tracks on this EP, which also includes a remix from label owner Tomoki Tamura.

It's a gruff tech-house stomper with a marching rhythm and superlative percussion. As the track builds we get a set of drums, which accentuate the stepping feel. Special mention has to go to the hefty bass-weight at the lower end; it will seriously trouble soundsystems when played.
