Help Marshall Jefferson get his album pressed to vinyl
The Chicago-born house legend has 23 tracks ready to go
Marshall Jefferson has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the physical release of his next album.
The producer, often dubbed as 'the father of house music', has 23 new tracks recorded and ready, with confirmed guest appearances from Full Intention, David Torte, Tyree Cooper, Rhythm Masters and more.
He is now hoping to raise the money needed to press it onto triple, and maybe quadruple, vinyl, with the goal set at $10,000. The project's $968 banked at the time of writing.
He's not the first artist to do it. Miss Kittin recently utilised Pledge Music to fund the release of a new compilation, and last month a GoFundMe campaign awarded Richard L. Spencer some due compensation for his role in creating the Amen Break.
Not all of them work out, though. We're yet to hear any developments about Terrence Dixon's Detroit club, and the Paradise Garage film Kickstarter was cancelled after falling considerably short of its target.
Jefferson stated: "I wanna see some of my house brothers and sisters doing Kickstarter campaigns. Hopefully house people will support the scene."
