Mark Farina celebrates 25 years of 'Mushroom Jazz'

A monster compilation and new tour dates

House music pioneer Mark Farina has been slated as one of dance music's top dogs for the last 30 years.

His famed compilation, 'Mushroom Jazz', started as a cassette tape sold on the streets of Chicago in 1991. It's now the longest-running series in dance music and consistently showcases a highly-curated selection of global, boundary pushing music influenced by jazz, funk and groove-filled vibes.

'Mushroom Jazz' is now celebrating its 25th year with its eighth episode, featuring artists like Freddie Joachim, Riccio and Colossus. Find the compilation here.

The legendary DJ and producer worked to create movement in the San Fransisco and Chicago House scene, and will return to his roots for the commemoration. Every third Wednesday of the month, Farina will perform at San Francisco's Monarch as well as a handful of US venues in between for the promoting tour.
