Manchester’s Kable to host fundraiser event following death of 25-year-old DJ Noxxic

The nightclub is set to host a charity event in his memory on Friday, January 17

Manchester nightclub Kable is set to host a fundraiser event following the death of 25-year-old DJ Noxxic, who passed away in November.

The Warrington-born DJ, real name Lewis Simpson, died on November 20, 2024, after he was hit by a lorry. He was cycling down Albion Way in Salford, Manchester, when the collision happened.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but were unable to save him, Manchester Evening News reported. Lewis' family called him a “talented and ambitious man, who had so many plans and dreams for the future" in a statement issued after his death.

On January 17, just days after what would have been Lewis’ 26th birthday, Wakefield Street club Kable will host a charity event in memory of the late DJ.

All proceeds from the event – which takes place from 10:PM until 4:AM – will go to mental health charity Mind, and features a line-up of “defining jump-up legends” and “rising stars pushing it to new boundaries”.

Under the alias Noxxic, Lewis Simpson was heavily involved in Manchester’s drum ‘n’ bass and jump up scene both as a DJ and producer, with releases on labels including Serial Killaz, Octave, and Nemesis.

Last summer, before his untimely death, Lewis graduated from university with a first class honours degree in electronic music production.

“With his many, many friends, he was a loyal and trusted companion and a collaborator on many musical journeys,” his family said in a statement via Greater Manchester Police in November.

“The hundreds of messages we have received, all have the same themes of his funny and loving personality, his dedicated and loyal friendship, and his generosity with his musical talents - supporting many other fellow artists on their journeys.”
