Singing to C+C Music Factory too loudly got a man fined by police
“Everybody get a fine now!”
A Canadian man has been fined for singing along to C+C Music Factory’s '90s hit ‘Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)’ too loudly in his car.
38-year-old Taoufik Moalla was stopped by police near his home in Montreal and asked if he had been screaming before being issued with a ticket for “screaming in a public place”.
Moalla denied he was screaming and told the Montreal Gazette: "I was singing the refrain 'Everybody Dance Now', but it wasn't loud enough to disturb anyone."
Police asked for his registration and checked inside his car before handing him the fine. Moalla, who was on his way to buy water when he was pulled over, is contesting the $149 ticket.
He told CTV: "I understand if they are doing their job, they are allowed to check if everything's okay, if I kidnapped someone or if there's danger inside, but I would never expect they would give me a ticket for that.”
