Lovebox Festival announces return in 2026 after seven-year hiatus

The festival, which previously ran for 18 years in London until its last edition in 2019, will go ahead at Dreamland Margate next year

Lovebox Festival is coming back in 2026.

The festival, which had previously been held in London for 18 years until its last edition in 2019, will return next year – this time at Dreamland Margate in Kent. Dates for its return are currently unconfirmed.

Lovebox shared the news earlier today with a teaser video on Instagram, which shows a woman carrying a box wrapped in heart-shaped paper and balloons reading ‘2026’ from London to the grounds of Dreamland.

“It’s been a minute, Lovebox family,” the festival said alongside the video. “We heard you, and we have missed you too. A new era of Lovebox is taking shape, reimagined at Dreamland in Margate.”

Fans have been encouraged to sign up for more information via the festival's website, with organisers promising that further details will be announced this week. It marks the end of a seven-year hiatus for the festival.

Lovebox last took place in six years ago at Gunnersbury Park, West London. While the festival’s 2020 edition was cancelled due to the pandemic, Lovebox promised to return in 2021, but has ultimately not been held since.

Before today’s announcement, the last post shared by Lovebox vowed a 2022 return, with the festival writing: “London, we miss you! Lovebox will be taking a break in 2021, but we’ll be back in full effect next year.”

Lovebox was founded by Groove Armada in 2002, with its first-ever edition taking place at 93 Feet East in East London. The festival grew year-on-year to welcome some 50,000 attendees by 2009, going ahead over two to three days annually.

Over the years, Lovebox welcomed the likes of Jamiroquai, N.E.R.D., Scissor Sisters, Little Simz, Snoop Dogg, Chase & Status, Mac Miller, Frank Ocean, Solange, Skepta, Charli xcx, Disclosure, and many more.
