Los Angeles hi-fi venue Bar Franca reopens as “reimagined” space
The bar has been revamped by LA collective and promoters Midnight Lovers
Bar Franca, a cocktail and hi-fi bar situated on Main Street in Downtown Los Angeles, has reopened after being “reimagined” by LA collective and promoters Midnight Lovers.
The bar is now billed as DTLA’s “new cultural hub for sound”, bringing together “avant-garde music talent, international selectors, and an elevated cocktail program”.
The reimagined space reopened on Sunday, October 19, with a launch event featuring Eli Escobar and Heidi Lawden, with promise of bringing more specially-curated nights from Midnight Lovers.

Bar Franca will open from Thursdays to Sundays through 8:PM until 2:AM, featuring a “sound-first”, intimate design with a fitted Danley soundsystem “finely tuned for warmth and precision”.
The hi-fi venue will hone its focus on sounds like funk, jazz, disco, house, and Balearic beats, with the first month of music programming already lined up.
Up first, Eddie C, Thee Mike B, DJ Garth, Tiffany Roth of Midnight Magic, Xica Soul, Club Tularosa and Masha Mar will all perform in the newly revamped space, while more “unannounced” international guests are also slated to play.

Weekly residents include Marmalade Jams with Mungo Sound Machine and the Slow Jams Jazz Syndicate. Bar Franca will also welcome local crew takeovers, with Sunday Sessions, Sisters of Sound, and Chapter One each lined up so far.
The revamped space pulls inspiration from European cocktail bars, taking its name from the late Franca Sozzani, once the editor of Vogue Italia and a “cultural icon” who merged “fashion, photography, and quiet rebellion”.
