LGBT activists to throw dance party in front of Vice President Mike Pence’s house

"Mike Pence has graciously invited us to shake our booties and bodies"

LGBT activists known as WERK for Peace are set to host a pop-up dance party in front of incoming Vice President Mike Pence’s house in Washington, DC, just days before Friday's inauguration.

The Vice President-elect has a track record for being anti-LGBT, as well as being anti-environmentalist and denouncing planned parenthood. With that in mind, the WERK for Peace event organizers are asking the public to "WERK it and tell Daddy Pence: homo/transphobia is not tolerated in our country!," according to the event’s Facebook page.

The crew of partiers, also co-organized by DisruptJ20, will make their way from the metro to Pence’s house where they plan to leave behind biodegradable glitter and rainbow paraphernalia.

An afterparty is also scheduled to occur following the demonstration, although location details have yet to be revealed.

The gathering is set to take place tonight, January 18. For those looking to join the movement, visit the event page here.
