​Lead singer of Linkin Park has reportedly committed suicide at the age of 41

His body was found at a private residence

Chester Bennington, the lead singer of Linkin Park, has died at the age of 41.

Early reports state that he apparently committed suicide by hanging himself at a private home in Palos Verdes Estates in L.A. County, where his body was found on Thursday at 9:00AM.

Throughout his career Bennington struggled with addiction to drugs and alcohol and had previously dealt with suicidal thoughts stemming from being abused as a child.

With the band Linkin Park, Bennington released seven albums and was known for hit tracks like ‘Crawling’, ‘Numb’, ‘Faint’ and ‘In the End’ among others. Linkin Park was the first band to achieve over one billion plays on YouTube.

Bennington leaves behind six children from two wives.
