Get ready for lau.ra’s compilation of singles, entitled ‘volume 1’
It’ll be available on vinyl and digitally to suit your preferred listening style
Producer, DJ and vocalist lau.ra has announced her upcoming release, ‘volume 1’.
Due for release on April 15, it brings together a collection of her singles to play out like a high-energy set or mixtape.
It involves big drums, bass, inventive rhythms and interwoven lyrics in a manner which succinctly ties together the producer’s sound.

On the project, lau.ra explains: "I didn't want the pressure of framing these tracks as an album. They weren't approached as a body of work - I just made some banging singles.
“And then I made some more banging singles, and suddenly I had a lot of banging singles and thought why not sling them all together and press them as a collection on vinyl. So that's how 'lau.ra - volume 1' was born.”
‘volume 1’ consists of nine tracks - six of which include a collaborative aspect.

The collection begins with ‘Sideways’ which involves swinging bass, before ‘You’ offers drum beats and futuristic R&B vocals.
‘Chengdu’ offers mystical flute sounds with a hypnotic effect - a tune which lau.ra wrote in China - whilst ‘Wicked’ involved vocal raps. ‘Body Go’ incorporates dance-floor ready bass, with ‘Waste My Time’ layers vocals with garage and further bass elements.
Final tunes ‘Get Creative’, ‘Blow’ and a remix of ‘Don’t Waste My Time’ are more dance-floor tunes to end the nine-tracker on a high energy note.
