Laura Jones (Trevino remix)

Second release on Sensoramic gets the Trevino treatment

Boasting a reputation as a ‘DJ's DJ’, releases on Crosstown Rebels, Leftroom and Visionquest and now a vinyl-only label of her own, Laura Jones is at the top of her game.

The Leeds artist kicked off her label Sensoramic with a pumping EP from Irish artist Karousel, featuring a remix by S.A.M. Now Jones is stepping up to the plate with her first EP since 2014, after taken some time in the studio to experiment.

Having re-worked Romanthony and Todd Terry, Jones knows a thing or two about the tradition of remixing. It’s why she enlisted Trevino, the 4/4 alias of influential d'n'b producer Marcus Intalex for duties on 'The Why Question' EP.

Best known for his soulful takes on drum 'n' bass and founding labels Soul:R and Revolv:R, Trevino has given the producer, real name Marcus Kaye, a vehicle for a number of releases on the likes of Klockworks and Aus Music since 2011.

On 'Cohesion', that vehicle rolls through the remix like a tank through barbed wired, as the Manchester producer sticks to his techno sensibilities and adds a dash of menacing pads to serve up a heavy hitter guaranteed to keep heads nodding.
