Lancelot in The Lab SYD
Warmly textured house incoming
This week in The Lab SYD we welcome London-based, Sydney-born DJ/producer Lancelot.
Lance Gurisik began his dance music journey while at Sydney’s Conservatory of Music, surrounding himself around the country's brightest and most dedicated performers, and developing his own unique brand of electronic music.
His early releases on Anjuandeep were a reflection of his time spent in East London where he found inspiration from the clubs of the English capital. In 2015 he put out his first three track EP ‘Mover’ on W&O Street Tracks, presenting a solid collection of deep house that gained attention from Bicep, Paul Woolford, Mr. G and more.
2016 saw the release of his impressive three-track outing on Berlin’s Toy Tonics, as well as two compilation cuts: one for London’s Freerange alongside KiNK & Detroit Swindle and another on Beating Heart’s Malawi compilation with Machinedrum & Luke Vibert.
Lancelot has spent the past 12 months playing across the UK and Europe, including marquee festivals Dimensions and Secret Garden Party, whilst still touring regularly through South East Asia, Australia and North America. Another EP just dropped on Scandinavian label Trunkfunk, with the promise of new music on the way via Counter Recordings, W&O Street Tracks and Free Range.
This week's The Lab SYD will be broadcast live from 6.30pm (AEDT) this Friday, January 13. You can watch the set in full over on our Facebook page and head to Mixmag TV for the full Lab SYD Playlist.
