A new nightclub is opening this week in Kyiv.

ENCES is taking over the former space of club MetaCulture on Nyzhnoiurkivska Street, in the centre of the city’s techno quarter.

The new club is set to launch this Saturday with an opening party headlined by Kyiv’s own Nastya Muravyova.

Money made from ENCES events will be donated to the Ukrainian armed forces with founder Denys Melnychenko, also known as Ondan, telling The Village: "Techno culture helps our soldiers a lot with funds”.

Melnychenko adds: "If we want to end the war, we need to support them not only morally, but also with money."

Opening as a "logical continuation" of MetaCulture, ENCES plans for only musical performances and is a "free space for free people".

Due to the conflict in Ukraine, curfews restrict opening times with parties only allowed to run on weekends.

The venue is set to be split across two floors, with nights to run on the top floor and the first floor to be used as a lounge area.

Plans are in place to transform the first floor into a studio, including a range of musical equipment for visitors to use and practice
