Kiimi refreshes their approach with experimental-inspired new track 'Coconut Water'

Kiimi has released their latest single, 'Coconut Water', exploring a more experimental-leaning side to their production armoury.
The track, available via Three Six Zero Recordings, sees the DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist opt for more broken, yet still carefully primed club sound, with its creative intention purely focused upon enjoying the freedom of the creative process.

“The purpose of 'Coconut Water' was to break the rules," explains Kiimi. "I didn’t want it to sound like a standard dance track - I wanted to experiment. I gave myself the freedom to take the track bar by bar, allowing the sound to evolve organically, moving it in whatever direction felt right as it developed.
"In reality, there aren’t any rules to making art, but we can often find ourselves subconsciously placing barriers and limitations within our own creative work. This was my effort to break out of that.”
'Coconut Water' is also particularly poignant for Kiimi in other ways, as they explained on Instagram: "...It’s the first original track I’ve put out that I’ve mixed myself, and that feels incredibly empowering when paired with the fact that I’m also in a period of being self-managed," before declaring the track's launch party a reminder of the important of community.
