The Italian DJ was hospitalised after his father stabbed him during an argument

Joseph Capriati's stab wounds are "not life threatening" according to a short statement posted to Facebook by his management.

Parallel, the agency that represents the Italian DJ, took to the platform to thank fans and industry colleagues for their outpouring of support for Capriati and said that "we want to reassure you that Joseph’s injuries are not life-threatening and he sends you all a big and warm hug."

The statement was posted on Saturday, less than 24 hours after Capriati was admitted to hospital in Caserta, Italy, having been stabbed in the chest by his father during an argument at their family home in the city.

italian press are also reporting that Capriati's condition is "slowly improving" according to the surgery department of Caserta hospital where he is being treated.

Capriati's father, age 61, has been arrested for attempted murder after he stabbed his son with a kitchen knife. It's being reported that Joseph Capriati was arguing with his mother before his father intervened. It's alleged that Capriati punched his father before his father retaliated by stabbing him in the chest. His brother was also present at the scene.

It has been reported that the stabbing affected Capriati's lungs and he was given a transfusion in hospital in order to stabilise his condition.

Joseph Capriati normally resides in Spain but has been based in Italy during the coronavirus pandemic.
