Jori Hulkkonen (Kenny Glasgow Remix)
A trippy slice of psychedelic house
Canadian imprint My Favorite Robot has always been a purveyor of dance music that isn't bound my genre. Whether it's frisky house, robotic electro or bouncing techno, the label has it covered.
It's also backed Jori Hulkkonen for a long time. The label is responsible for releasing an album under his alias Third Culture called 'Negative Time' and also 'Oh But I Am' via his real name.
Last year's 'Oh But I Am' was as exciting as it was inventive and now we've got some brand new remixes of 'Black Books', one of the album's stand out cuts. Time for a premiere and we've got the first play of Kenny Glasgow's re-interpretation.
Formally a member of Art Department, the smooth and seductive house pro has turned the original mix into a trippy slice of psychedelic house. The vocals are sultry, the riffs groove-laden and the percussion slowed down for a real taste of the blissful 60s.
If you want to drift off and space out then stick this one on loud.
The 'Black Books Remixes' will be released on March 18 via My Favorite Robot
