JME meets with Jeremy Corbyn to encourage people to vote

Grime loves Corbyn

The UK’s snap general election is taking place next month on June 8, and grime artists are throwing their weight behind Labour candidate Jeremy Corbyn.

JME met with the Leader of the Opposition at the weekend and discussed the reasons behind political disengagement in the country, and topics such as “music, education and art”.

The meeting was documented on Jeremy Corbyn’s Snapchat story, with the pair addressing Corbyn’s followers to encourage them to register to vote.

Further grime MCs to have been vocal in support of Corbyn include AJ Tracey, Akala, and Novelist, who has previously attacked the Tories in a David Cameron-sampling track.

UK residents have until 11:59pm on May 22 to register to vote in the general election, and can do so here.
