Jeff Goldblum is releasing a jazz album

We're sure it'll fly...

If you're an avid viewer of The Graham Norton Show on BBC, it's likely you witnessed actor Jeff Goldblum's performance on the piano last year.

The Jurassic Park, The Fly, and Independence Day star played the keys while Disclosure collaborator Gregory Porter sang and it turned out he was pretty decent.

Executives from Decca Records, the classical offshoot of Universal Music Group, caught wind of his fingertip skills and have locked him in for an album, due later this year.

In the press release, Goldblum said: “I’m so happy to be in cahoots with the wonderful people at Decca, one of the coolest and most prestigious labels of all time.”

Decca's director of A&R Tom Lewis said: “He’s a fantastic jazz pianist, a great band leader and just about the loveliest man in the world. His love of jazz is infectious and whenever he plays he makes you feel very happy. If we can take Jeff’s music into people’s homes then we will be helping, in our own small way, to make the world a happier place.”

While we wait for the masterpiece, check out Goldblum's handy work on The Graham Norton Show below.
