James Murphy's new sound installation to be exhibited in underground park

Subway Symphony is the name of the latest project from LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy.

Using musical turnstiles that play sounds in response to people walking through them, the installation was originally designed for the New York subway system, but was rejected and has instead been installed in the Lowline project.

Said by developers to be "the world's first underground park", Lowline Project is a $70 million investment, stretching three blocks long below Delancey Street in Lower Manhattan. Part of the development, Lowline Lab, is open to the public now, with the subterranean development set to be open in 2020.
