ION Audio Unveil Bluetooth Turntable

The Air LP streams vinyl through Bluetooth speakers and allows records to be converted to digital

ION Audio has made a Bluetooth turntable.

Unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the wireless Air LP, expected to sell for £100, allows vinyl to be played via Bluetooth compatible speakers.

A USB port also allows users to convert their records into digital files on Mac or PC and a 1/8-inch auxiliary input means you can connect and convert from CD and cassette players.

Wendy Fortin, ION's product manager, said the company wanted to act upon the rise of vinyl sales and the growing popularity of Bluetooth devices.

"Vinyl is alive and well. With vinyl album sales on the rise and the increasing popularity of Bluetooth speakers, we wanted to connect the best of both worlds and create a wireless way to enjoy your records."
