Insomniac Events founder Pasquale Rotella calls for drug education

He doesn't believe banning festivals will reduce the number of deaths at music events

Los Angeles officials last week called for a ban of major festivals on county-owned land following two deaths at HARD Summer, but that's not the answer according to EDM mogul Pasquale Rotella.

The Insomniac Events (Electric Daisy Carnival, Nocturnal Wonderland) boss reckons such a move will just make matters worse, leading to unregulated events with less security and next to no medical care.

He posted an image on Instagram with the words "the worst distance between two people is misunderstanding", accompanying it with a lengthy caption detailing the need for regulated spaces for dance music.

He's not wrong, either. Although the proposed ban would only be a temporary move, let's hope those working on the revised health and safety measures take his advice on board.

Like he says, "a national dialogue that educates our youth" is definitely the most positive step forward.
