IKEA turns down Kanye's collaboration request
No Yeezy range, then
IKEA has stated that it's not looking to work with Kanye West anytime soon.
Yeezy spoke to Radio 1's Annie Mac last night (August 1), passionately detailing his wish to make furniture with the Swedish company.
He said: “Yo IKEA, allow Kanye to create, allow him to make this thing because you know what, I want a bed that he makes, I want a chair that he makes – I want more products from Ye”.
However, a spokesperson for IKEA has politely stated the company isn't looking to collaborate with the Atlanta-born rapper and producer.
"At IKEA we are constantly curious about different people, companies, artists and events around the world. To have these connections and inspiring meetings is an important way for us to find new ways to create a better everyday life for the many people.
"Although we are really flattered by Kanye West's high interest in IKEA and the speculation around a joint venture, we have no plans to collaborate at this point in time."
That's a different stance to IKEA Australia, which earlier mocked up a bed design that could have been in the Yeezy range.
Now, though, it doesn't seem like the IKE4 range will become a reality.
