Kyiv's HVLV Bar and Hangout launch wartime FUNDRADIO initiative

Streams allow the voices of the Ukrainian capital to be heard

Based in Kyiv, Ukraine, the HVLV Bar has teamed up with Hangout to stream a new online cultural project named the FUNDRADIO initiative.

Each stream looks into wartime in Ukraine with DJ sets, interviews and story-telling.

The FUNDRADIO Initiative say: "We will talk about the life of the capital during wartime and share parts of our social, historical, and political vision of war and music."

Streams so far include a conversation with music manager, TV host, actor and political consultant Alex Kovzhun on the potential political consequence of the was in Ukraine and elsewhere.

The same day as the Kovzhun broadcast, an interview followed with a Dj-set from HVLV resident Andrew Bez who delve into Ukrainian music mixed with chill-hop.

Another conversation you can watch is with Dmytro Tkachuk who worked as a lawyer for he National Bank of Ukraine prior to the war and now works as a local producer visiting Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Zaporizhia. In this episode, Tkachuk speaks about the diversity of cities in Ukraine, the history of Dmytro, his relatives leaving Bucha, and the search for strength for a new life.

Via a statement on Instagram FUNDRADIO explain that: "All streams will support the newly formed Podil Underground Community Foundation (PUCF). The fund is already raising funds for the humanitarian and infrastructural needs of Podil and to support the Ukrainian army. Now 50% of each stream will go to support the functioning of the bar, the team and local artists."
