Hosina Anniversary - 8/10

Hoshina Anniversary has made himself right at home at Boysnoize. His debut album went down a storm, and his abrasive yet calculated techno/electro crossover has won him plaudits from the boss BN himself. For his latest EP he's gone pretty weird. 'Tough' is a washed-out chugger with fairground-esque synths and intergalactic walls of sound. Put your headphones on, turn it up loud and get lost in the weird world of Hoshina.

If you want something to take to the dancefloor, though, go for Greg Beato's 'Platano Maduro' mix. The 21-year-old producer has already released big ones on L.I.E.S. and Apron, and his edit is a rugged 4/4 workout that retains the oddities of the original. Another great package from BNR.
