HOLD A CORNER launches record label with Wilfy D single

The uplifting track ‘IDKW’ is out now

HOLD A CORNER has minted its record label with a new track from Wilfy D.

The Bristol-based artist has previously caught attention for the R&B-influenced garage and house hybrid sound he’s honed across releases for the likes of Timeisnow, Dansu Discs and ec2a.

On ‘IDKW’, he introduces new elements into the mix, taking additional influence from styles such as amapiano and funky on the stirring single.

“I just want people to listen to it and feel uplifted – it doesn’t matter where they are or what they are doing,” says Wilfy D. “My aim is to create human connection and give people a sense of escapism...It doesn’t really matter where that happens – in or out of the club, at home or in the gym, or whatever.”

It marks the inaugural release on the label arm of HOLD A CORNER, a London-based platform aiming to spotlight the next generation of UK house talent which launched in March. A takeover over fabric’s Room 3 in May followed, with an appearance at Glastonbury’s Greenpeace Field scheduled later this month.
