Swedish producer drops a massive four-track EP to kick of anniversary series
Eric Prydz has dropped 'Pryda 10 Volume 1', a four-track EP that marks the first in a series of releases to commemorate the label's milestone 10th anniversary, and celebrates its enduring status as the go-to imprint for genuinely progressive house.
The Swedish producer has taken 12 previously unreleased tracks from the label's extensive back catalogue and given them the rework treatment. 'Volume 1' is a collection of four big room weapons that flex Prydz's knack at drawn out, melodic breakdowns and thick, spacey drops. The next two volumes will be released over the course of the summer.
Through his label, which has helped to launch the careers of the likes of Jeremy Olander and Fehrplay, Prydz has continually pushed the futuristic arm of house music. His progressive productions and enduring status in the scene has meant that he's one of the few big room acts that commands major respect from the underground.
