HD Substance - 7/10

AYCB is Housemeister’s wildly eclectic label, and no imprint boss is pushing more out-there music.

We’ve reviewed several of his EPs and his Gameboy-inspired, 8-bit album ‘Game Over’ was one of our favourites of 2013.

Now he calls on the talents of HD Substance, and there’s a Dinamite remix of ‘Copper’ on the record that we’ve been hitting hard.

It’s a murky and dense track that’s doesn’t take any prisoners: think of it as a DJ tool with darkened melodies and harrowing tones that pulsate from the off.

The staggered, old-school drums give it an air of class and sophistication in a time when big drops and glitziness are rife.
