Havana Club Rumba Sessions (Pépé Bradock Remix)

Gilles Peterson enlists some of the best for the Havana Club Rumba Sessions

Gilles Peterson's love affair with Cuba started back in 2009 when he teamed up with Havana Club to initiate the Havana Cultura project. It was set up to give Cuban producers a platform to show off their creativity and so far the results have been great.

After six years of music-making and cultural exploration, Gilles Peterson's Havana Cultura Band now present the 'Havana Club Rumba Sessions'.

This instalment comprises of a free sample pack, a collection of amazing remixes and most-importantly a feature-length documentary that will be shown at the ICA from January 30 to February 28.

One look at the list of producers on board to remix and it confirms Peterson's status as one of the best musical tastemakers in the world.

Edits from Max Graef & Glenn Astro, Motor City Drum Ensemble and Mo Kolours are all excellent showcases of international and Cuban talent but we've got the premiere of Pépé Bradock's remix and it's fantastic.

The French icon's remix is a jazz-infused dream, blending numerous instruments with dark bass tones to create a wonderfully-unique track. Masterful stuff from Bradock and Peterson.
