Gorillaz’s Noodle is on OkCupid with a cryptic message in her profile
Could this possibly be the album's release date?
Noodle, the fictional guitarist and keyboardist for the Gorillaz, may be having trouble on the dating circuit leading up to the release of the band’s new album as she's recently been spotted on OkCupid.
Thanks to avid Reddit users, Noodle’s OkCupid profile was discovered to be linked with the Gorillaz Instagram account and features a photo of Damon Albarn.
With the Gorillaz under a microscope leading up to their anticipated new album, one of their famed cartoon character's signing up for an account on a dating website is more than enough to pique their dedicated fanbase's interest - and indeed, it seems as though Noodle's profile could be hinting at something. The profile lists her general attributes: 26 year old queer, single woman who speaks English and Japanese, and is looking for “people, located anywhere, ages 18-99, for new friends.”
However, the real cryptic message in Noodle’s profile is found in the “self-summary” section where she writes, “Ready? 12:11 xx DA”. The “DA” stands for the band’s creative mastermind Damon Albarn, but the numbers remain up for deciphering. Despite the back-and-forth of the album's release date, which was supposedly set for a 2017 arrival, “12:11” could suggest that new music is coming on November 12.
So far it’s confirmed that the forthcoming album includes collaborations with De La Soul, Snoop Dogg, composer Jean Michel-Jarre and Vic Mensa, while a release date is expected at the start of 2017.
Next week we could find out even more about the album. Check back soon and view Noodle’s profile below.
