Gorillaz have announced a new album is coming in 2018

"Let’s keep going"

Following the release of their highly anticipated fifth studio album ‘Humanz’ back in April, Gorillaz have decided to keep the ball rolling and release a new full-length LP in 2018. The confirmation of a forthcoming album comes after Gorillaz band member and illustrator Jamie Hewlett revealed the group’s plans during a conversation with the German art-book publisher TASCHEN:

“We’re working on another Gorillaz album that we’re going to be releasing next year. Usually we have a good five-year break between each album but we decided, you know what? Let’s keep going. Because there’s ideas for a few more albums so we’re going to go straight into that. So that will be all of next year and probably the year beyond that.”

During an interview with Q Magazine back in September, Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn hinted at the arrival of new album after stating: “If we’re going to do more with Gorillaz we don’t want to wait seven years because, y’know, we’re getting on a bit now."
