Goose gets high on powerful pills found dumped in a Californian park
Hundreds of prescription pills were found scattered across a park in Huntington Beach
A goose got high and collapsed after eating a cocktail of pills that had been littered across a Californian park.
According to Metro the Canada goose was seen lying flat on its back after eating the prescription sedatives. Hundreds of pills were found scattered across the grass at Carr Park in the Huntington Beach area.
A seagull was also found in a similar state, with both birds victim to a string of unpleasant side effects such as loss of muscle control.
Workers from Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center came to their rescue after being alerted by a member of the public. Taking to Facebook they said, “Our center is currently treating a Canada Goose and a Ring-billed Gull that are exhibiting symptoms, such as loss of muscle control, that coincide with illness most likely caused by ingesting these medications.”
Adding, “Both birds are doing well with treatment which mainly consists of pushing IV fluids through their system to flush it out. Thank you to those who took quick action to help the innocent birds at this park.”
One of the birds has now been released from the rehabilitation facility.
