GoFundMe set up for DJ Deeon amid continuing health issues
The Chicago-based DJ has returned to hospital after “amputation, heart attack, pneumonia, [and] now physical therapy”
A Gofundme fundraising page has been set up for the legendary house DJ and producer, DJ Deeon as he returns to hospital with prolonged health issues.
As detailed on a Facebook post, Deeon has gone through an "amputation, heart attack, pneumonia" and must now fund physical therapy as part of his treatment.
Deeon says he is “trying hard to recover” and begins the statement with the sole line: “I need your help”.
Many fans and artists have commented on the statement including content creator DJ Hb Smooth who replied “Get well bro”
Last month, DJ Deeon revealed he was in ICU with a heart infection, where he suffered an amputation and pneumonia. Deeon was still in hospital earlier this month but now has reportedly recovered from pneumonia and he was breathing on his own according to another Facebook post.
In response to his original announcement on June 29, footwork producer Traxman, replied not to worry for DJ Deeon in the comments however, Deeon responded: "I'm down bro can't type on phone then out Dizzy. Tell.all.the bros lo pray please. This different."
The producer has previously shared struggles with his health as in 2020 he was forced to crowdfund for loss of income due to suffering a series of strokes, by selling off rare merch and unreleased music.
“I'm not one to ask for help - it doesn’t sit comfortably with me - and I believe you should never get something for nothing so here I am offering to you what I can.” He wrote on the Crowdfunder page at the time.
