Glastonbury announces new drive-in cinema showing 'Akira' and more
Fancy watching 'Withnail & I' from a classic car?
Glastonbury has announced the program for its new drive-in cinema, Cineramageddon.
The area will feature “the biggest cinema screen in Britain” and is set to show a number of classic films.
Acclaimed director Julien Temple, who directed the 2006 ‘Glastonbury’ film, has picked the program, which includes anime classic 'Akira', 'Withnail & I', 'Dazed & Confused', 'Mad Max Fury Road' and 'Apocalypse Now'.
Seeing as you punters are not allowed to bring their own car onto the festival site, Cineramageddon will be providing classic cars in which moviegoers can seat themselves.
Designed by artist Joe Rush, Cineramageddon also promises “repurposed funfair rides and a Lear jet.” Founder and all-round hero Michael Eavis previously described the new addition as “the biggest thing of the year”.
Glasronbury runs from June 21 to 25.
