Gerd Janson next up on fabric's mix series
Perfect for sunrise, sunset, and everything inbetween
fabric’s revered mix series rarely does anything less than blow us away, and the latest piece featuring Robert Johnson resident and all-round lovely character Gerd Janson keeps the trend going.
Ranging from hypnotic, highly sought after cuts like Shan’s ‘The City Never Sleeps’ to well loved acid bangers such as Joy Orbison and Boddika’s ‘Severed Seven’, Gerd takes us on a hazy and unpredictable journey through time and space that navigates between euphoric dark-room techno and lush, synth-heavy numbers with the ease we’ve come to expect from the Running Back label head.
“I ended up choosing some records that I played and enjoyed a lot over the last few months in a party context, mingled them with some exclusives and up-and-coming ones and tried to eternise the valleys and the mountains of a 12 hour long epic journey onto one silver disc," he says.
Featuring breezy numbers by the likes of Glenn Underground and Scott Grooves, a previously unheard Caribou remix, and 6am classics from Roger van Lunteren, we can only imagine the life changing experience this mix might lead to on fabric’s unparalleled system.
'fabric 89' is launched on Saturday July 30, with Gerd holding down Room 1 alongside Radio Slave, Scott Grooves and resident Craig Richards.
