Spanking instrumental on the first Boxed release
London grime night Boxed has been a consistent fixture in our calendar in the past two years so when we found out it was becoming a label, we couldn't wait to hear what was on offer.
As with Mr Mitch, Slackk, Logos and Oil Gang's party, 'Boxed001' is all about bonkers, crystalised melodies and basslines that send a shock through your system.
Slackk, Dullah Beatz, Spokes, Lloyd SB and Trends take care of the label debut and we've got the first play of the latter's input, a remix of 2007 tune 'Old Skool 2' by Rinse FM founder Geeneus.
Maintaining the spanking reverb of the original, Trends brings some stinging claps and a load of hyperactive bleeps into the mix to maximise its reading on the spank-o-meter. Before it's released on December 18, pre-order it here and listen to it below.
