Fur Coat

Fur Coat's tunes are menacing and devilish and the contorted synths they frequently use send your mind into a trip. Listen to last year's 'Katarsis', released on Sasha's Last Night On Earth label, and you'll be completely spun out for over seven minutes.

The Venezuelan-hailing, Barcelona-based pair have produced plenty of creepy tech since first appearing in 2011 with 'Space Ballad' on Crosstown Rebels. It's a label they're super tight with having put out debut album 'Mind Over Matter' on it in 2012 and Damian Lazarus has called them back for plenty of other 12"s and EPs.

In between their Crosstown antics, they've knocked out 'The Right Move' EP on BPitch Control and served up the mean and far-from-friendly 'There's No Time'. The labels they've hooked up with is evidence of their clout and a new EP on Berlin imprint Watergate only strengthens that. Their second time on it, having remixed Ruede Hagelstein's 'Soul Dynamic' last year, we get two new tracks in the form of 'Interstellar' and 'Desire Of Mine' featuring Delhia de France.

The former is more of the duo's dirty, dancefloor-geared tech, only this time it's layered with orchestral gloss. Synths wriggle and whir to give it that evil edge, but the use of majestic strings prove the track's got a split personality. Either way, Fur Coat provide another searing tune.
