Flying Lotus is working on a feature film and needs fans to help

Kuso will also feature music from Aphex Twin

After scoring the Eddie Alcazar directed short film, Fuckkkyouuu, and premiering his own short film titled Royal at the Sundance NEXT Fest over the weekend, Flying Lotus shared that he’s working on a feature length film.

FlyLo revealed that Royal, which is described by the Brainfeeder boss as “an awkward love story that's definitely not for the kiddies”, is part of a much bigger production titled Kuso. Now that he’s officially announced the film, he has begun to unveil more details about the project.

Along with disclosing that Kuso is more than halfway done, FlyLo wrote, “the idea behind Kuso is a simple one. It's pretty much everything I'm afraid of.”

Realizing that directing and producing a feature length film is a major undertaking, FlyLo said that he doesn’t have financial support for the project, so he’s asking his fans for help.

He also shared more information on the score for the film, posting that Kuso will include music by Aphex Twin, Thundercat and Akira Yamaoka. He even hinted that a new album will coincide with the film’s release, but little is known about the new material at this time.

Look out for more information regarding Flying Lotus' film project to surface in the coming months.
