Farr Festival takeover in The Lab LDN with Ivan Smagghe
Eclectic electrics this Friday
The Lab LDN is Mixmag and Coors Light's weekly live stream, powered by Void Acoustics, where we showcase the finest DJs direct from our world famous office party.
This Friday we welcome masterful French selector Ivan Smagghe into The Lab LDN for a special Farr Festival takeover.
Backed by two and a half decades of experience in the game, Ivan Smagghe has earned the unwavering respect of dance music peers and fans across the globe for his trailblazing musical exploits.
His DJ sets are revered for being roving, genre-defying trips across all corners of the music spectrum, packed full of obscurities and underpinned by an edge of exhilarating weirdness. The Kill The DJ label and party he co-founded was started as a reaction against homogeneity within the house and techno club sphere, providing a platform to get loose and explore all manner of sounds.
As a producer he crafts equally unique and emotive tracks, both as Ivan Smagghe and in groups such as Black Strobe and It’s A Fine Line. Across these multiple projects he traverses darkness and lightness with deft skill, combining his far-reaching influences to form rousing records.
Taking place deep within the Bygrave Woods in Hertforshire, 40 minutes north of London, Farr Festival has established itself as a leading boutique option in the UK’s dance festival calendar since launching eight years ago. 2017 looks set to be Farr’s biggest and best edition yet, with the likes of Todd Terje, Helena Hauff, Omar S and Avalon Emerson locked in to play the intimate woodland rave across July 13 to 15. Tickets are on sale now, priced at £110 for the weekend and £45 for day tickets. and can be purchased here.
In the lead up to the festival Ivan Smagghe will take us on a 90 minute odyssey in The Lab LDN. The live stream starts at 5pm BST this Friday, June 2. You can tune in live over on our Facebook page and re-watch on MixmagTV from 6:30pm BST.
