Evian Christ was detained at Leeds Festival this weekend

He was apparently put in a cage following his set on Friday

According to reports, UK producer Evian Christ was detained at this weekend's Leeds Festival on August 29.

After trying to find his car at the festival, Evian was wrongly accused of trying to "break into the festival without a ticket", after which he was detained in a cage.

He was later released over an hour later, and after the festival didn't issue him with an apology he cancelled his appearance at Reading Festival the following day on August 30. At Reading, a tongue-in-cheek area marked for Evian Christ was spotted by Hudson Mohawke which can be seen below.

Festival organiser Melvin Benn said Evian was "intoxicated" and "'not in a very good state", which led Christ to release a statement to clarify exactly what went down.
