At first glance, pairing Detroit-based producer Shigeto with Mexican rapper Niña Dioz might not be an obvious choice, but give 'Nubes' a listen and let those doubts be washed away.

The two met in Joshua Tree, California during the Smirnoff Sound Collective retreat, which brought a troupe of artists out to the scenic Rancho V studio for impromptu sessions and creative meets. Shigeto, who has deep music knowledge and roots in jazz and hip-hop tipped productions, nabbed Niña for a few Spanish verses inspired by the magic of the desert and thus, 'Nubes' was born.

'Nubes' marks the first exciting collaborative release to come out of the Smirnoff Sound Collective sessions, celebrating a string of tracks that will highlight unprecedented pairings between artists of the SSC and mentors, including MK, Joe Ray of NERO, Kevin Saunderson, Roy Davis Jr. and more.
