Josey Rebelle is the skilled selector with a natural ability to link a variety of genres effortlessly during her mixes.
Her club sets are smooth house, techno and disco based but it’s her mixes that really demonstrate her broad knowledge of music.
A regular at some of the UK’s most respectful nights, Rebelle has played some of the best clubs and festivals across the UK and internationally from Fabric to Panorama Bar and De School, as well as Dimensions, Outlook and Bestival.
Her mix for the Honey Soundsystem crew is a content journey of genres, starting with a vocal-heavy disco track transitioning into punchy techno with an underlining kick drum and rolling bassline.
The constant and careful switch ups carry the mix through, going from ambient and playful before calming down again, teasing lo-fi, soft, smooth and jazzy melodies until the chunky bassline is thrown back in.
The last 10 minutes of the mix are a gentle end, coming down from the brilliant selections just experienced.
